This is the Star Flyer that we did our cruise on. It's from the Star Clippers fleet of ships. We started the cruise in Singapore.

Singapore is the largest shipping port in the world.

Shopping area. The whole city is very clean.

Star Flyer. 360' long. Passenger capacity: 170. Crew: 72. 4 masts, 16 sails. Mast height: 226'.

Pirates are still a problem in this area. They actually have crew members assigned to "Pirate Watch" at night. Cargo ships and private yachts are the usual targets.

Every ship needs a parrot. Her name is Celesta.

Pattaya Beach on Ko Lipe Island. Great snorkeling. Did a dive here too and saw a lot of lionfish and sea urchins with the longest spines we've ever seen. Quite a few small jellyfish but their stings weren't too bad.

Malacca, Malaysia. Not much to do in this town, but the tuk tuks sure are fancy.

stopped for lunch at a floating village. (basically a community whose buildings are built on stilts.) We are in Thailand now.

at high tide this pretty cove becomes inaccessible.

Bird's nest soup is a delicacy. Swallows nest in many of the caves in this area and the people harvest 3 out of every 4 nests they find. We've been told they boil the nests and then strain it and it tastes like slimy bird excrement. Yum.

Similian Islands. Terrific diving and snorkeling on beachs of sand as fine as baby powder.

Crystal clear water with visability as far down as there is light to see.

Our hotel was along the river. Lots of water taxi's are available to navigate through the downtown area.
